A new client of DMH Plant had requested a call out from their local CAT dealer to their CAT 950K Loading shovel after having transmission problems. They diagnosed complete transmission failure and quoted a replacement unit at £22,000 plus labour. They contacted us for a second opinion. After removing and stripping the transmission we found the front transmission bearing had failed, causing damage to several internal components including the reverse clutch housing. We were able to rebuild the transmission sourcing an after-market clutch housing at a considerable saving.

The total cost of transmission overhaul inclusive of labour was £15,800.
